I recently visited Vergelegen (dutch meaning “situated far away”), a historic wine estate in Somerset West near Cape Town. Worth a visit if only to meet Lionel and library cat and see the manor house that is preserved in a bygone era complete with an original Pierneef painting on the wall. The wine is pretty tasty as well :)
